Domingo is Dhystara, a duster, a man of power who uses alchemy, nature and his wits to accomplish what ordinary people can never hope to do.
He must brave the trials of the Garden Path and find the secret lair of the Midnight Gardener, a mythical being said to spin life and death out of the very air.
Once there, Domingo will try to find and retrieve a gruesome plant with powers no being should ever wield.
The fiends will reward him handsomely, if only he can manage to get their prize and survive...

I was sucked in right from the beginning, Mr Laine has done an amazing job of pulling you into a fantastical world that is unique, and yet not so far removed from our own.The characters are interesting and the hero is flawed in his humanity, giving him a real sense of personality, allowing the reader to connect with him in a really visceral way.
I started reading this on my daily train trip, and as it was pulling into the station I found myself willing it not to be so,
for the trip to continue just so I didn't have to put it down.
Now, where is the next one Mr Laine, we're waiting with great anticipation.

In the Realm of the Midnight Gardener Tales of the Garden Path Book 1 eBook Christopher Laine David Slebodnick Reviews
The writing in this tale paints a vivid picture of its characters as well as vividly describing the worlds in which these characters exist. I believe Laine and Domingo Ladron could jump right in with R.A. Salvatore and company in the Forgotten Realms series and weave some wicked good stories!
The writing is amazing. I felt like I was in the world. The ending couldn't be more perfect. I really want more, and that's the way a good book should leave you.
Looking forward to the rest of the books. It kind of reminded me of the Silfen Path storyline in Peter Hamilton's Commonwealth Saga. Well written - it kept me engaged.
